How to configure Plumbit page headers

Before you begin#

• Confirm Plumbit is active and that Plumbit Extensions is active where your package requires it.
• Use an account with Customizer permissions, and page-edit permissions when you need a page-level exception.
• Record the current page-header provider, design, position, size, background, scroll effect, and any page-level values before making broad changes.
• Use a backup or staging copy before changing the visual system across a live site.

Open the page-header settings#

Open the WordPress Customizer and then open Header. Choose Page Header for the default page context. The Customizer also provides Archive Page Header, Search Page Header, 404 Page Header, Blog Home Page Header, and Shop Page Header sections for their respective contexts.

In the selected section, the main controls include Enable Page Header, Page Header Layout Type, Choose a Header, Page Design, Page Header Position, Page Header Size, and Page Header Background Scroll Effect. The context-specific sections use the corresponding context name in their labels.

Choose the design#

Plumbit provides five theme page-header designs. Choose the one that best fits the content arrangement you want, then preview a normal page and a representative content context. Choose the position and width#

Page Header Position provides After Menu and Under Menu. After Menu places the page-header output in the normal flow after the site header. Under Menu is intended for a header relationship where the page header sits in the site-header area; its exact visual result depends on the active site-header layout, transparency, sticky behavior, and responsive breakpoint. Check the public page rather than assuming the label means that the site header is transparent.

Page Header Size provides Full Width and Boxed. This controls the page-header layout width and container relationship, not the header height. Test the selected design in both the desktop and narrow layouts because the media and content regions can have design-specific container behavior.

Configure the background#

Use the page-header controls for Page Header Background Image, Page Header Background Color, and the background overlay settings available in the active context. The selected image is cropped responsively by the layout, so review the focal point at desktop and mobile widths before publishing.

For Designs 3, 4, and 5, the page-header content panel can also use Page Header Content Background Color and Page Header Content Background Image. These controls style the content panel rather than replacing the primary page-header media. The alpha-enabled color can remain visible beneath a content image when both are configured.

Choose the scroll effect#

Standard uses normal background positioning. Fixed uses fixed-background behavior, which can vary on mobile browsers and may fall back to a less forceful presentation. Parallax uses the theme's page-header motion helper and requires a valid primary background image.

Parallax Strength accepts values from 1 through 10 and changes the movement intensity. Reduced-motion preferences simplify or hold the motion where supported. If JavaScript is unavailable, the background remains usable without relying on the motion effect. Designs 3, 4, and 5 keep their separate content-panel background static while the primary media is the moving region.

Configure the title and breadcrumbs#

The title normally comes from the current WordPress context: a page, post, Service, Project, Team member, product, archive, taxonomy, search result, shop, blog home, or 404 context. Use the title controls available in the selected context to control whether the title is shown, its tag, alignment, typography, and color. Archive, search, shop, and 404 titles are resolved from their context rather than from an unrelated page.

Use the page-header breadcrumb controls to enable or disable the breadcrumb trail, set the home label where available, and check the resulting context trail. The breadcrumb system is theme-owned; do not assume that a separate SEO plugin owns this output unless your site has been configured to replace it.

Preview and publish#

1. Record the starting state#

   Note the provider, design, position, size, background, scroll effect, strength, title, and breadcrumb settings.

2. Preview representative contexts#

   Check the homepage, a normal page, a post, a Service, and one relevant archive or shop route. Check both a wide and narrow viewport.

3. Check ownership#

   If the page header is supplied by an Elementor template, the theme design controls do not own the visible output. Confirm the source before changing more settings.

4. Publish after checking contrast#

   Confirm title and breadcrumb contrast, image cropping, menu overlap, and mobile spacing before publishing the Customizer change.

Expected result#

The active Plumbit page-header owner displays the intended title, breadcrumbs, design, background, position, width, and scroll behavior for the selected context.
