How to install and activate Plumbit plugins

Before you begin#

• Plumbit is installed and activated.
• You can sign in with a WordPress administrator account.
• The site has a working internet connection for WordPress Repository plugins.
• The approved WordPress and PHP requirements are already met.
• You have a backup when changing an existing site.

Plugin roles#

The current Plumbit setup identifies the following plugins. Install required plugins before relying on the features they provide, then use the same status and source matrix when updating them.

TGMPA installs and activates the selected plugins during this workflow. Do not manually locate or upload the bundled plugin ZIPs inside the theme package.

Install and activate the plugins#

1. Open the plugin installer#

   After Plumbit activation, the Themes screen displays the plugin notice. Select Begin installing plugins, or go to AppearanceInstall Plugins.

   Expected result: the Install Required Plugins page is displayed.

2. Install and activate the plugins#

   Select the plugins to install, open Bulk actions, select Install, and select Apply. TGMPA installs and activates the selected plugins during the workflow.

   Expected result: the selected plugin installations and activations complete without a download or permissions error.

3. Confirm completion#

   Wait for the completion messages, including All installations and activations have been completed. and All plugins installed and activated successfully. Select Return to the Dashboard.

   Expected result: Plumbit menus, Elementor editing, page-level options, and the demo-import screen are available according to the plugins installed.

4. Add recommended integrations#

   Install Contact Form 7 where forms are used, WooCommerce for shop functionality, and Envato Market for eligible ThemeForest update workflows. Recommended plugins are not required for a site that does not use their features.

What changes when a plugin is inactive#

• Plumbit Extensions: Plumbit custom-record menus and Stronghold widgets may be unavailable.
• Elementor: Elementor page editing and Elementor-based widgets are unavailable.
• Meta Box: supported page-specific option interfaces may be unavailable.
• One Click Demo Import: the separate demo importer is unavailable.
• Contact Form 7: Contact Form 7 forms and integrations are unavailable.
• WooCommerce: products and shop features are unavailable.

Stored data is generally not deleted merely because a plugin is inactive, but admin menus, editing controls, post types, widgets, shortcodes, or frontend output owned by that plugin may be unavailable. Reactivating the plugin normally restores access to its registered functionality. Check the status before changing data.

Common plugin problems#

Success state#

The required plugins show as active, Plumbit custom post-type menus, Elementor editing controls, Stronghold widgets, page-level options, and the importer are available, and recommended shop, form, or update features appear only when their plugins are active.

Support escalation#

Provide the exact plugin name, the action that failed, the WordPress error text, the active theme, the WordPress and PHP versions, and whether the issue is required or optional. Do not send passwords or license credentials.
