Use the Plumbit demo importer after preparing a new or safely staged WordPress site. Select one named demo, let the import finish, and verify the result before customizing it. The current Plumbit demo packages add demo media to the WordPress Media Library, while some imported layouts also continue to reference external Stronghold-hosted image URLs. Review and replace both sources with images you own or are properly licensed to use before launching the website.
Open the demo importer#
- Sign in to WordPress as an administrator.
- Open , or use
wp-admin/themes.php?page=plumbit-demo-import. The page title is Plumbit Demo Import. - Confirm that Plumbit Extensions, Elementor, One Click Demo Import, and Meta Box are active. Contact Form 7 and WooCommerce are recommended for their respective imported features; Envato Market is not required for demo import.
- Review the available preview cards and choose one of the four final demos.
On the selected demo card, the action is Import Demo. On the confirmation screen, the action is Continue & Import. Do not use numeric demo labels or an unverified demo slug. Use the customer-facing names shown by the current release.
Select a demo#
The available choices are General Plumbing, Sewer Repair, Water Heater Installation, and Commercial Plumbing. Their package slugs are general-plumbing, sewer-repair, water-heater-installation, and commercial-plumbing. The importer keeps package identity separate from display labels, while the selected demo determines which content package and settings are imported; it does not create a clean reset of content already on the site.
Existing-site warning#
Importing into a populated site can add duplicate pages, records, widgets, and assignments. Use a verified backup or a staging copy before proceeding. After import, review both the Media Library and imported page content because some demo media is local while some layout imagery may remain externally referenced.
Run and monitor the import#
- Start the import only after the backup and plugin checks are complete.
- Keep the browser tab open and wait for the progress state Importing Content. The importer asks you to sit tight and not refresh or use the back button.
- Do not refresh or repeatedly retry while the first attempt is still running.
- Record the first visible error if the import stalls or fails.
When the import completes, the page shows Import Complete! and offers Visit Site. Demo import adds content and settings to the current WordPress site. It does not import real payment credentials, SMTP credentials, orders, customers, gateway settings, production business data, licenses, hosting, domain, or SSL settings.
Verify completion#
A Plumbit demo import creates or assigns the following items:

| Posts page | News List is assigned as the posts page. |
| Main menu | Main Menu is assigned to the intended primary and mobile menu locations. |
| Header, Footer, Page Header | The selected demo provides the corresponding theme records and settings; verify the active providers and display settings. |
| Demo media | The import adds demo media to the WordPress Media Library. Some imported layouts may also reference external Stronghold-hosted image URLs; review and replace both sources before launch. |
- Confirm the importer reports Import Complete!.
- Select Visit Site, then open the homepage and a representative imported page.
- Review Media > Library and representative imported pages for local and externally referenced demo imagery. Identify whether each image is a local Media Library attachment or an external Stronghold-hosted URL before replacing it, along with reviewing widgets, menus, templates, forms, store pages, and assignments.
- Continue with the initial setup checklist before replacing demo copy or links.
Expected result#
One selected Plumbit demo has completed without an unexplained error, and the imported site is ready for the ownership and setup checks in the next guide.
