How Plumbit service widgets display content

Before you begin#

• Make sure Elementor and Plumbit Extensions are active.
• Open the page containing the Services widget in Elementor.
• Have at least one published Service available when testing Post Type mode.

Identify the widget#

Open the Elementor Elements panel and look in the Plumbit category for Services. The legacy and modern implementations share this customer-facing title.

Select the widget on the canvas or in Structure before reviewing its controls. Do not edit the Service record from a widget control unless the control explicitly stores direct Elementor content.

Choose the content pattern#

Post Type#

Post Type mode queries published service records. Change reusable titles, Service Descriptions, icons, featured images, and categories in the Service record. Change which records and how many are displayed in the widget.

Content List#

Content List mode stores direct item values in Elementor. A manually entered title, description, image, icon, or link belongs to the page, not to a reusable Service record. Use this mode when the content is intentionally page-specific.

Single Service#

The widget also exposes a Single Service display type. Its direct title, description, image, icon, and link controls are widget content and should not be confused with the source fields of a queried Service.

Understand the query controls#

For Post Type mode, review the controls shown for the selected display type. The Services widgets include these controls:

• Services Display Type and Services Design for the presentation mode.
• Filter services by category and Service Category to filter Services by Service Category where needed.
• Items Per Page or the relevant item-count control for the number displayed.
• Order by title for the supported alphabetical title ordering.
• Enable Pagination where the selected grid mode exposes it.
• Enable Services Icon, Enable Service Link, and Enable Service Description for card content.

Only the controls shown for the current display type apply. A control hidden by Elementor conditions is not evidence that the widget supports that behavior in another mode.

Understand where card fields come from#

Change which Services appear#

1. Replace a manually selected item#

   Use Content List or Single Service mode, select the relevant item control, replace the direct values, and update the Elementor page.

2. Filter a queried list#

   Use Post Type mode, enable Filter services by category, then choose a Service Category.

3. Change the number#

   Adjust the item-count or Items Per Page control exposed for the selected layout. A lower limit can hide a published Service without deleting it.

4. Change the order#

   Use Order by title when alphabetical title order is wanted. Manual item order is a different system.

Preview and update#

Preview the page, check links and missing images, and inspect responsive layouts. Update the Elementor page when widget settings change. Update the Service record when reusable source content changes.

You can tell whether a Services widget uses reusable Service records or direct Elementor content, then edit the correct source and query settings.
