How to add and edit Plumbit team members

Create reusable Team member records, assign categories, manage images and social links, review page options, and publish them safely.

Plumbit Team members are reusable WordPress records managed by Plumbit Extensions. Published records can be displayed by the Team Elementor widget when it queries Team members, and each record can have its own public page.

Before you begin#

  • Confirm Plumbit and Plumbit Extensions are active.
  • Use an account with permission to manage Team members and media.
  • Prepare the member's name, biography, position, featured image, category terms, and any social URLs you intend to publish.
  • Use a backup or staging site before making substantial content changes.

If the Team Members menu is missing, check the extension plugin and your user permissions before troubleshooting the record itself.

Maintain each team member's role as a reusable Plumbit content record.

Open the Team screen#

In WordPress, open Team Members > All Team Members. Select Add New to create a record, or choose an existing Team member to edit it. The same area provides Team Member Categories for the active Team taxonomy.

Add a Team member#

  1. Enter the name and biography#

Enter the person's name in the title field. Add the main biography in the WordPress editor. This is the content used by the single Team member content area.

  2. Add the profile image#

Set the record's Featured Image when a record-query Team widget or card design uses the Team member's image.

  3. Complete Team Options#

Use the Position field for the job title and Team Member Description for the short description used by the Team member widget where supported. Add complete URLs to the available Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Linkedin, and Skype fields when those links should be public. Google+ is a legacy field retained for older content. The Google+ service is no longer active, so do not use this field for new profiles. Enter the Skype value in the format used by your existing Team profiles and test the generated link before publishing.

  4. Assign categories and review page options#

Assign Team Member Categories when a Team widget needs a category filter. Review the shared Page Layout, Page Options, and Page Sections panels for sidebar, page-header, and related page-level settings.

  5. Preview and publish#

Preview the record, check its public URL, and select Publish. For an existing record, select Update.

Page Layout and Page OptionsSingle Team member pageOptionalShared sidebar, page-header, provider, and page-section settings are separate from Team content.

The active Team Options panel does not provide separate Email, Phone, Website, Address, Experience, Qualifications, or custom profile URL fields. Phone and email link types can be available for direct Elementor items, which are stored separately from the Team record.

Name and permalink#

Team member names are used as record titles. The Team URL uses the team slug by default, subject to the site's Team slug setting. Changing a published name does not always change its existing permalink automatically. Treat an established URL as a public link and plan a redirect before changing a slug.

Position and biography#

The main biography belongs to the Team record and is rendered by the single Team member content area. The Position and Team Member Description fields belong to Team Options and are used by Team widget output where the selected Team widget supports them. If a card shows different text, first check whether its widget uses a Team record or direct Elementor content.

Use the record Featured Image for Post Type content in the Team widget. Direct Team Items and direct single-item controls have their own Elementor image fields; changing a record image does not replace an image saved directly in Elementor. If a record has no image, an image-dependent card may omit the image block.

Contact and social information#

The active Team record fields provide social URLs for Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Linkedin, and Skype. Google+ is a legacy field retained for older content. The Google+ service is no longer active, so do not use this field for new profiles. Enter the Skype value in the format used by your existing Team profiles and test the generated link before publishing. Publish only details you intend to make public. Empty social fields suppress their icons where the active Team widget renders record social links. The Team record does not have separate email or phone fields in the active Team Options panel.

Assign Team Member Categories#

Team Member Categories is the active hierarchical Team taxonomy. Assign one or more terms when a widget query needs to filter Team records. Taxonomy links depend on the term and site's configured slug; Plumbit does not register a native Team archive.

Review page-level settings#

Team members use the shared Page Layout, Page Options, and Page Sections panels. These can provide sidebar, page-header, and provider or template overrides. When a page-level control supports inheritance, leaving it unset allows the corresponding global setting to apply. Where a matching page-level override is available, use it for a deliberate exception.

Preview, publish, and update#

Use Save Draft while preparing a record, Preview to inspect it, Publish to make a new Team member public, and Update after changing an existing record. Refresh the page or widget after saving so you are checking the current source record.

Trash and restore#

Move an unwanted Team member to Trash from the Team Members list. Trashing a record removes it from record-query widgets and makes its public URL unavailable. Direct Team Items and direct single-item content are stored separately in Elementor and are not removed when a Team record is trashed. Restore the record from Trash when needed, or permanently delete it only when its public links are no longer required.

Expected result#

The published record is available to Team widget queries and its individual Team URL. Its title, featured image, Position, description, and social links appear only in templates or widget modes that use those record-owned fields.

Common problems#

Support escalation#

Send the Team member title and URL, the page or widget where it should appear, record status, taxonomy terms, widget name and content mode, Plumbit version, Plumbit Extensions version, Elementor version, WordPress version, PHP version, and a screenshot. Do not send passwords.
