Prepare the site before importing starter content. A demo import adds content and settings to the current WordPress site; it is not a backup or a reset mechanism. The current Plumbit demo packages add demo media to the WordPress Media Library, and some imported layouts also continue to reference external Stronghold-hosted image URLs. Plan to replace both local demo media and externally referenced demo imagery with images you own or are properly licensed to use before launching the website.
Choose a safe site for the import#
Use a new WordPress installation or a safely staged copy when possible. Do not import directly into a populated production site with valuable content unless you have a verified restore plan. A second import can create duplicate content and mixed assignments.
Back up before importing#
Back up both the site files and the database. Confirm that the backup can be restored before you change an existing site.

- Activate the Plumbit theme.
- Install and activate Plumbit Extensions, Elementor, One Click Demo Import, and Meta Box before importing.
- Install Contact Form 7 when the imported form workflows are needed.
- Install WooCommerce when imported shop content and store pages are needed.
- Do not treat Envato Market as required to display or import a demo.
- Record the WordPress, PHP, memory, upload, and execution-time limits that could affect a large import.
- Confirm that the server can write to the uploads directory and that the browser can reach the WordPress administration screen.
Required and recommended plugin roles are separate. Do not install every recommended integration unless the site needs its features.
Know the four available demos#
The final Plumbit library contains four named demos:
- General Plumbing
- Sewer Repair
- Water Heater Installation
- Commercial Plumbing
Choose the demo that best matches the intended business content. Review the preview and the imported records before selecting a design for a populated site.
Before you start#
- Finish the backup and record the restore path.
- Close unrelated content-editing work on the site.
- Keep the import screen open in one browser tab.
- Plan to review the homepage, posts page, menus, widgets, headers, footer, forms, and store pages after the import.
- Plan to review imported Media Library assets and externally referenced demo imagery, then replace both with images you own or are properly licensed to use.
Expected result#
You have a new or safely staged WordPress site, the required plugins are active, files and the database are backed up, and one of the four named Plumbit demos is ready to import. You also know that demo media may be local in the Media Library while some imported layouts continue to reference external Stronghold-hosted image URLs.
